Process Porfolio
This part of my portfolio shows the processes I go through when writing documentation or designing an interface. I have also included style and process guides
that I have created at a couple places of employment.
Digital Harbor Process and Style Guide
|
I started the style guide portion, and then assigned another writer to take it over and add in the process information. I also
edited it several times for consistency and to point out any missing topics. |
NextPage Process Guide
|
Took the couple pages of existing process documents and created a Guide that all the writers could use.
We also used it to train new writers. |
NextPage Style Guide
|
We had some styles defined in the Adept editor, but it was often confusing on which style to use. The
styles also tended to focus on display (or how the result would look) rather than on the function (a menu item or a label or a dialog
title); so I changed many of the styles to be more function-based. This allowed us to change the style display without going through
every single topic or file to search and replace. |
IBM Process Guide
|
Even though I had only been at IBM a little over a year, I was asked to assist in creating a process document (which included
taking information from the existing, outdated, one) so that new writers to IBM could more easily learn the process and follow it. |
