Rejected Again
Bamboo Lessons was rejected again. This time by Intergalactic Medicine Show. Looks like it didn’t make it past the slush reader either.
The message: “Thank you for offering your story to Orson Scott Card’s Intergalactic Medicine Show. After careful consideration, we’re sorry to tell you that we will not be using it; you are free to submit it elsewhere.”
So, no hints either on what was wrong or that they didn’t like. At least it was carefully considered – that is a definite plus 😉
Anyway, on to the next market (still trying to figure out who that will be).

Sorry Garrett. It’s a good story. It will sell!
Thanks! I need to work on another story to take my mind off it. Or finish my novel. If I could just get all my students to come to class but not turn in any homework, I’d have more time 😉
Did you send it through the Boot Camper submission guidelines? That usually means Edmund will read it personally and give some sort of comment.
I did. They get so many of those now, that there is a slush reader, then it goes to 1 of 2 readers, then it gets passed on up to Edmund. At least, that is kind of the gist I got from Eric James Stone (one of the readers).
Good luck with your goals to increase the student slacker population!
Good Luck. You will find a market!!!
