After you check out items (and print issue slips, if desired), you can distribute the items to borrowers.
To distribute items to borrowers
1 | Determine whether a borrower’s items should be mailed or delivered. |
To do this, see whether the wording “mailed” or “delivered” is specified on the borrower’s issue slips.
2 | Verify which items are for each borrower. |
To do this, check the titles specified on the borrower slip and sort the items by borrower.
Ratings are for standard Home Service borrowers only, not Institution Home Service borrowers. (For example, tell the borrower to use a scale of 1 through10, and explain which end of the scale means “liked the item” and which end means “did not like the item.” You can also tell borrowers to write “0” (zero) for items they do not read.)
3 | Do one of these options: |
• | If a borrower’s items should be delivered, give the items, the borrower slip, and the driver slip to the delivery person. |
• | If a borrower’s items should be mailed, use the borrower slip to find the borrower’s mailing address. |
4 | You can print a reference list of all the borrowers on each route. (For instructions, see Printing the Route List.) |
The route list is especially useful if you deliver items to borrowers. You can give the route list to a new driver or post it in the delivery vehicle.
5 | Mail or deliver the items and the borrower slip to each borrower. |
