Creating Search Options for the Media Collection

After setting up a media collection, you should create specific Media Scheduling search options that let you search the items in the new collection. These options make it easier for borrowers and library staff to search Media Scheduling for your library’s media items. For more information on search options, see “search options” in the System Administration Guide.

To create search options for the media collection

1 Open the search view in the Table Editor.

Horizon opens the List Lister Search Lists window.

2 Locate and highlight Media Scheduling in the list.
3 Click Edit.

Horizon opens the Edit Lister Search Lists window:

4 Complete these fields:

Enter media.

This field may already be completed.

Note: You must enter media in the Search field as the name of the search. Media Scheduling does not recognize any search names other than media.

Mq Index

Enter the codes for one or more keyword indexes that you want to let staff and borrowers search for media items, or click Codes to choose from a list of codes.

For example, enter bibkw.

You can choose up to 10 keyword indexes. Media Scheduling will combine the results from each index listed. (Media Scheduling responds only to keyword indexes).

5 Click Page Down or resize the window to display the Short Name field:

6 Enter media in the Short Name field.

This field may already be completed.

7 Save your changes.
