A closed stack area is the place where a library stores items that are not physically accessible to borrowers. You need to set up a separate location for a closed stack area so that it can have different operating hours and settings than the library location where the area is housed. As you set up a location, you will choose specific location parameters and create pickup areas for the closed stack location.
Most libraries need to create only one closed stack location and its corresponding pickup areas. If necessary, you can create several closed stack locations, each with their own pickup areas. (For example, if you are an academic library with several campuses, each physical library that has its own closed stack area would need its own closed stack location and corresponding pickup areas.)
