If the Information Portal search results page lists more items than a user can easily work with, users can limit the list to those items that meet certain criteria. There are two types of limits that users can choose to limit a search: user-defined limits and pre-defined limits. User-defined limits are created by the user from a list of established limit types and operators combined with values that a user enters. Pre-defined limits are set up in Horizon and imported into a profile; they can only be used as you define them and cannot be changed by a user during a search.
You can also choose to have a user’s search results display with a limit automatically applied. (For instructions, see Choosing Profile Options.)
