Searching for a Borrower Record

Before you can make a media reservation, you must first search for the borrower record of the borrower who wants to reserve the media item.

To search for a borrower record

1 Log in to Media Scheduling.

For instructions, see Logging In to Media Scheduling.

2 Enter the name of the borrower last name then first name you want to search for in the Enter Borrower field.

You can enter the borrower’s full first and last names, scan the borrower’s library barcode, or enter the first few letters of either the borrower’s first or last name followed by a “wild card” character. A wild card character lets you search by the first few letters of the borrower name. The percent sign (%) and the asterisk (*) act as valid wild card characters to match multiple characters. The underscore (_) and question mark (?) act as valid wild card characters to match a single character.

For example, if you type ste%en% in the Enter Borrower field, Media Scheduling finds all the borrowers whose names include Steven, Steveson, Stevensen, and so forth.

3 Press Enter.

If Media Scheduling finds only a single borrower’s name that matches the search criteria you entered, that borrower’s name is automatically selected and displayed in the Borrower field.

If Media Scheduling finds several borrowers’ names that fit the search criteria, all the names that fit the search criteria you entered are displayed in the Borrower Search Results window.

4 Click the name of the borrower for whom you want to create a reservation.
5 Click OK.

Media Scheduling displays the main window again, showing the borrower information you selected in the Borrower section:
