For the telnet daemon to communicate between your server and your 3M SelfCheck machine, it must be configured correctly.
To configure the Ataman telnet daemon
1 | From the Windows menu bar, choose Start, Settings, Control Panel, Ataman TCP R. L. Services. |
Your system opens this window:
2 | Click the About tab. |
3 | Click Register. |
Your system opens this window:
4 | Enter the Registration Name and Registration Code from your Ataman Registration Letter. |
5 | Click OK. |
6 | Click the Users tab. |
7 | Click Add User. |
Your system opens this window:

User Name |
Enter the user account name the remote client programs will use to allow remote users to logon. (This is determined by your system administrator.) |

Enter the Windows NT user account that will execute for this remote user’s logon. This can be either an account on the local machine, or in a Windows NT domain. (This is the same as the Username in the User Manager.) |

Do one of these options:

Home Directory |
Enter the initial working directory given to the commands initiated by this user account. This directory should be the one you assigned during the installation process. (If you enter incorrect information, the system will prompt you to correct it.) |
9 | Click OK. |
10 | Click the Prompts tab. |
Your system opens this window:
11 | Change the Default Response in the Mode Prompt group to Simple. |
12 | Click OK. |
13 | Restart the NT machine to save these settings. |
