Adding or Changing a Z39.50 Lookup Code

Information Portal is delivered with Z39.50 lookup code values already defined for your Z39.50 search result displays. However, you may want to add or change a Z39.50 lookup code value.

To add or change a Z39.50 lookup code

1 Open your Information Portal Administration tool web site.
2 Click the Customize tab.
3 Click the Z39.50 sub-tab.
4 Click the Lookup Z39.50 sub-option.

The Administration tool displays the Lookup Z39.50 page.

5 Do one of these options:

To add a Z39.50 lookup code

To change a Z39.50 lookup code

Do one of these options:

If you want to add a code from scratch, click Add Lookup Z3950.
If you want to add a code by copying an existing one, find the Z39.50 code you want and click Copy next to it.

The Administration tool displays the Edit Lookup Z39.50 page.

1 Find the Z39.50 code that you want to change.
2 Click the name of the code that you want to change.

The Administration tool displays the Edit Lookup Z39.50 page.

6 Complete or change these fields to add or change a Z39.50 lookup code:

Choose the item display on which you want to use this Z39.50 lookup code.

ID

Enter the Z39.50 ID for this Z39.50 lookup code.

Language

Choose the language for this Z39.50 lookup code.

Value String

Choose the value of this lookup code.

(For example, choose “1” if the value is true.)

Display

Enter the text that you want Information Portal to display for this element on the item display.

(For example, enter “Checked In”.)

7 Click OK.

The Administration tool displays the Lookup Z39.50 page again.

8 If you want to add another Z39.50 lookup code, repeat steps 5 through 7.
9 When you finish making changes in Information Portal, restart the Application Server process (JBoss).
