Displaying Additional Borrower Information in Checkout

By default, Horizon displays the borrower name and ID number when you locate a borrower record in Checkout. You can set up Horizon to let your staff see additional borrower information. Displaying additional borrower information can help library staff more quickly and easily differentiate between two borrowers with the same name.

You can display information from any of the columns specified in the borrower_search SQL view, including these:

To display additional borrower information in Checkout

1 Open the mq_view view in the Table Editor, or start the View Control process.

The default location of this process is the Administration\System Setup folder on the navigation bar.

Horizon opens the List Search window.

2 Enter “borrower” in the Search for field.

Horizon opens a List Horizon View window.

3 Double-click borrower.

Horizon opens an Edit Horizon View window.

Horizon uses information from the borrower view to display information for all borrower search indexes except the Borrower Last Name Alphabetical search.

4 Display the List View group.
5 Add the column whose information you want to display. (For instructions, see “Adding a Column to a Search List View or Edit Window” in the “Introduction to Horizon Views” chapter of the System Administration Guide.)
6 Mark the Properties Displayed field.
7 Save your changes.
8 Repeat steps 2 through 7 for the borrower_find view.

Horizon uses information from the borrower_find view to display information for the Borrower Last Name Alphabetical search.
