You can choose to keep a circulation history of items that borrowers check out from your library. This history includes information such as title, item number, checkout time, checkout date, check in time, and check in date for each item a borrower checks out. (For more details on what information is included in the history, see Understanding the circ_longterm_history table.) This feature allows you to keep record of what items borrowers have checked out as well as determine which borrowers checked out particular items.
You have the option of turning circulation history on or off. You can also choose to allow the borrower to choose whether or not they will use circulation history.
If you decide to keep a circulation history, you can choose how long you want to retain it as well as the maximum number of items to keep on the list. Library staff can view a borrower’s circulation history on the borrower record. However, Horizon prevents library staff from editing or adding information to the history by disabling the Add and Delete buttons in the group on the borrower record.
