Search tracking lets you see how your users use the searching process. (For example, the results show the number and type of searches that were conducted by users.) By tracking search options and analyzing the results, you can identify common spelling errors and mistakes that users make while searching. You can then identify terms that you need to add to the lists of stopwords and synonyms. You can also see which topics interest users. That way, you can make search categories for popular subjects.
You must manually start and stop search tracking every time that you want to collect search statistics. Be aware that using searching tracking for long periods of time affects Information Portal’s performance.
