Filling a Closed Stack Request Manually

When a requested item is delivered to the pickup area, you can manually enter the closed stack request into your Horizon system by scanning or entering the item’s barcode. Horizon changes the request’s status to “Manual Fill” and the item’s status to “Closed Stack.” Because the item’s status changes, Horizon does not let other borrowers request the item that is being used.

To fill a closed stack request manually

1 Use the request pull-slip to find the requested closed stack item.
2 Take the request pull-slip and closed stack item to its designated pickup area.
3 Start the CSA Fill process.

The default location of this process is the Circulation folder on the navigation bar.

Horizon displays the CSA Fill window.

4 Click Requested Item Found.
5 Scan or enter the item’s barcode.
6 Click OK.

The request you entered appears at the bottom of the window in the list of recent requests:

Horizon changes the request’s status to “Manual Fill” and the item’s status to “Closed Stack.”

7 Give the item to the borrower.
