Closed Stack Access User and Administrator Guide

Welcome to Horizon Closed Stack Access. Closed Stack Access lets you provide borrowers access to the items in a closed stack area of a library. After you set up Closed Stack Access, borrowers can request closed stack items over the Internet using Horizon Information Portal; library staff can request closed stack items using staff searching. Your library staff then retrieves the items from the closed stack area and delivers them to the designated pickup area.

The Closed Stack Access Administrator’s and User’s Guide is for all users of Closed Stack Access, including system administrators. It explains the setup tasks that your system administrator needs to complete to make Closed Stack Access operational. It also explains how borrowers make requests, and how library staff process requests.

This guide contains these major sections:

Getting Started explains the basic information you need to begin using this guide, gives you an overview of this guide, and explains basic closed stack processes.
Setting Up Closed Stack Access explains how to set up Horizon with specific Closed Stack Access parameters.
Using Closed Stack Access explains how to do basic Closed Stack Access tasks such as requesting closed stack items, filling requests, checking in closed stack items, and other tasks.
Solutions lists the column names for each grid used in Closed Stack Access. It also contains examples of how to search for and choose closed stack requests in the Closed Stack Request List.
