Creating a New Family Group

A family group can contain a minimum of one person, but it isn't beneficial until you have two or more. The group is created, however, when you add the first borrower.

Adding a borrower to a Family Group is only available if Family Group has been enabled in the Matham table.

To add a borrower to a Family Group

1 Do one of the following:
From the Launcher navigation bar, choose CirculationFamily Group.

Note: You may need to configure the Launcher navigation bar to display the Family Group option. For more information, see Adding an MQ View to the Navigation Bar.

From the Checkout window, identify the borrower, then choose Family Group.
From the Borrower window, choose Edit Borrower, then choose Family Group.

Note: If the borrower does not yet belong to a group, you are presented with the option to search for or create a family group. A borrower cannot belong to more than one group.

2 Choose Family Group.
3 Choose Create a New Group.

The Family Group window opens with the borrower added to the list. The first member of a family group is automatically designated as a leader. You can edit the borrower's group membership options later if needed.

Note: If the borrower already belongs to a group, the borrower's Family Group window opens. A borrower cannot belong to more than one group.

Below is an example of the Family Group window:

For information about the Family Group window, see Opening a Family Group.

4 Choose Close to return to the Edit: Borrowers window.
