Changing the Tabset Assigned to a Profile

A set of tabs and sub-tabs displays at the top of the Information Portal searching pages. By clicking on tabs and sub-tabs, users can navigate between different Information Portal search pages.

By default, Information Portal searching pages display this set of tabs (or tabset):

You can change the tabset that is assigned to a profile. By changing the tabset, you change the Information Portal pages that users can access when they search using that profile.

For example, you may have an “Events” tab within a tabset called “Holidays” that you use from October through January to advertise local holiday events. You can assign the “Holidays” tabset to the profile that your users use.

You can assign a tabset to a profile only if that tabset already exists in your Information Portal administration. You can create a new tabset, or update an existing tabset. You must also assign indexes and set limits within a new tabset.

To change the tabset assigned to a profile

1 Access the profile you want to change, or add a new one.
2 Click Tabsets, Indexes, and User-defined Limits.

The Administration tool displays the list of tabsets that are available:

If the tabset that you want to assign is not listed, you can create a new tabset. (For instructions, see Customizing the Information Portal Tabset.)

3 Mark the tabset that you want to use.
4 Click Next.

The Administration tool displays a list of sub-tabs within the tabset like this one that may include indexes:

From this page, you can choose a sub-tab, and then add or delete indexes and user-defined limits within that sub-tab.

5 Do one of these options:
If you do not want to change the indexes that are available to be used in the user interface, click Done.
If you want to change the indexes or user-defined limits for a sub-tab, see these topics:
Changing the Indexes within a Tabset
Changing Limiting Options
6 When you finish making changes in Information Portal, restart the Application Server process (JBoss).
