Reviewing the Closed Stack History File

Each day at midnight, Horizon checks the statuses of your closed stack requests. If your system administrator has set up requests to be sent to the closed stack history file, any request with a status other than “Active” will be moved to the history file. (Your system administrator uses the History Duration field to send requests to the history file. For more information on this field, see Creating a Closed Stack Location.)

If your system administrator has not set up requests to be sent to the history file, any request with a status other than “Active” will be deleted. Also, any requests in the history file that have exceeded the number of days specified in the History Duration field are deleted from the history file.

There are several reasons why you might want to review the history file. You can see if certain items are requested more than others or see if requests are made during certain peak hours. Also, if an item is returned damaged, you can look up the request to see who requested the item.

To review the closed stack history file

1 Open an SQL query tool (for example, SQL Advantage or Query Analyzer).
2 Connect to the correct server and database.
3 Enter this SQL command:

select * from csa_request_history

You should see a window like this:

4 Review the information in the history file.
