If you want different results to display when you complete a search with an index, you can assign another result type to the index. (For example, you may have a call number index to which you want to assign a special full bib result type that you created in Customize.) A result type and its associated index work together to find and display information when an Information Portal user completes a search.
If you have the same index available in different profiles, you do not have to display your search results in the same way for every profile.
To change an index’s result type
1 | Access the profile you want to change, or add a new one. |
2 | Click Index Result Types option. |
The Administration tool displays the Index Result Types page, listing all of the indexes that are available for this location.
3 | Click the index for which you want to change the Result Type. |
The Administration tool displays the Edit Result Type page:
4 | From the Result Type list, choose the result type that you want to assign to this index. |
You can choose from all keyword result types and any unused browse result types for this profile.
5 | Click OK. |
The Administration tool displays the Index Result Types page.
6 | Repeat steps 3 through 5 to change the Result Types for other indexes at this location. |
Important: The result types and index pairings in Customize must match any changes you make in Setup. If you go into three different profiles in Setup and assign a different result type to the same index in each one, you must make sure that you have those three result types assigned to that same index name in Customize for Information Portal to return results correctly.
7 | When you finish making changes in Information Portal, restart the Application Server process (JBoss). |
