Testing the ADA-Compliant Profile

If you have activated the ADA-compliant profile and applied it to an existing Information Portal library profile, users can search your library database using the ADA-compliant profile. They do this by accessing the web address of the location profile to which you have applied the ADA guidelines. The profile displays pages in a simple black-and-white format. Links display in the color specified by the browser being used. Users can navigate through the field, link, and button options using the Tab key. If you want to, you can edit the ADA profile. (For instructions, see Changing the Searching Environment for Your Library.)

To test the ADA-compliant profile

1 If you need to review the profile URL, do these steps:
a Open your Information Portal Administration tool web site.
b Click the Setup tab.
c Click Libraries.
d Click Profiles.

Information Portal displays the profiles that you have installed.

The default URL for an ADA profile is the original profile’s URL followed by “-ada”.

Here is an example:

Original profile

http://server/ipac30/ipac.jsp?profile=mn

ADA-compliant profile

http://server/ipac30/ipac.jsp?profile=mn-ada

2 Use a web browser to access the profile that uses the ADA guidelines.
