Enabling Family Groups
A family group is a collection of borrowers, typically of family members, who can have permissions to view or manage different properties of each other's interactions with the library. These can include such actions as viewing other members' overdue items or paying fines. For example, one may set up the group as a family with the parents having permissions to view and manage their children's accounts. However, there is also the flexibility to set up the group with any member having some permissions and restrictions in what they can do for a different member's account.
When Family Groups is enabled on your system, Horizon adds two slips to the Circulation Slip table that are specifically for family group notices, reminders, and invoices. You will need to customize these slips after Family Groups is enabled. For more information, see Setting up Family Group Notice Slips.
