If you want to, you can change the information for a sub-tab that you have added to a tab. (For example, you can change the URL for a URL sub-tab.) Here is a list of the things that you can change for a sub-tab:
• | Text on the sub-tab. |
• | Hover-text or ToolTip for a sub-tab. |
• | Title in the tan bar on a sub-tab’s page. |
• | Description of instructions for what to do on the sub-tab’s page. |
• | HTML help file assigned to the sub-tab. |
• | URL for a URL-type sub-tab. |
• | XSL template assigned to a sub-tab. |
To change the information for a sub-tab
1 | Access the tabset that contains the sub-tab whose information you want to change. (For instructions, see Adding or Changing a Tabset.) |
The Administration tool displays the Edit Tabset page.
2 | Click Edit Sub-Tabs. |
Here is an example of the Edit Sub-Tabs page:
3 | Click the tab that has the sub-tab you want. |
4 | Click the sub-tab that you want to change. |
The Administration tool displays the Update Subtab page.
5 | Change these fields to name the sub-tab and enter other information; otherwise, continue with step 6: |
Field |
Action |
||||||
Name |
Enter the name you want displayed on the sub-tab. (For example, enter “Basic”.) Note: If you want to wrap the tab’s text to the next line in the tab, enter a semicolon ( ; ) at the point at which you want to break the line. However, if you wrap the text for one tab in a tabset, you may want to wrap them all. This is because a tab with wrapped text is taller than a tab with unwrapped text. |
||||||
Hover-Text |
Enter the description that you want displayed in the ToolTip box when the mouse hovers over the sub-tab name. (For example, enter “Basic Search”.) |
||||||
Title |
Enter the name that you want Information Portal to display in the tan bar on a search page. (For example, enter “Basic Search”.) |
||||||
Description |
Enter a detailed description about what clicking on this sub-tab will display or do, or what this sub-tab is for. (For example, enter “Enter a search term and click Go to search the library catalog”.) Information Portal displays this description as instructions under the Title in the tan bar on a search page. |
||||||
HTML Help File |
Enter the name of the HTML help file that you want Information Portal to display. (For example, enter “basicsearch.htm”.) If your library has created HTML help for this sub-tab, you can enter the file name so that Information Portal displays the help when users click the Help button. This is the default directory for the HTML help files: directory where you installed Application Server software\jboss\server\default\deploy\hipres.war\help\eng You must be sure to place your help file in this directory so that Information Portal can display the file. Important: SirsiDynix does not support custom HTML help file functionality. Also, creating custom HTML help files requires proficiency in HTML. |
||||||
URL OR XSL Template |
Do one of these options:
Note: The field that appears depends on the type of sub-tab you are changing. |
||||||
Additional Parameters |
Enter the search category group that you want to display. (For instructions, see Assigning a Search Category Group for Information Portal to Use.) |
6 | Click OK. |
The Administration tool displays the Edit Sub-Tabs page.
7 | If you want to change another sub-tab, do one of these options; otherwise, continue with step 8: |
• | If you want to change another sub-tab for this same tab, repeat steps 4 through 6. |
• | If you want to change another sub-tab for a different tab, repeat steps 3 through 6. |
8 | If you added a tabset, assign the tabset to the library profile for which you want to use it. (For instructions, see Changing the Tabset Assigned to a Profile.) |
9 | If necessary, assign the indexes that you want to use for the sub-tabs in the tabset. (For instructions, see Changing the Indexes within a Tabset.) |
Assigning the indexes you want to a sub-tab lets you define which indexes Information Portal makes available for the sub-tab.
10 | When you finish making changes in Information Portal, restart the Application Server process (JBoss). |
