After you install Media Scheduling software, Media Scheduling puts a Media Scheduling icon on your desktop. You can use this icon to launch and log in to Media Scheduling, or you can add Media Scheduling to the Horizon Launcher and then use the Launcher to launch and log in to Media Scheduling.
If you want to add Media Scheduling to the Horizon Launcher, you must add Media Scheduling as a process to the navigation bar.
To add Media Scheduling to the Horizon Launcher
1 | Start Horizon. |
2 | Choose Tools, Customize Launcher. |
3 | Click the Navigation Bar tab. |
4 | Choose whether to add Media Scheduling as a stand-alone process or as a process inside a new or existing folder. |
a | To add Media Scheduling as a stand-alone process, do these steps: |
• | Click New. |
• | Choose New Process. |
Horizon adds the new process to the model navigation bar.
b | To add Media Scheduling to an existing folder, do these steps: |
• | Highlight the existing folder in the model navigation bar. |
• | Click New. |
• | Choose New Process. |
Horizon adds the new process to the model navigation bar.
c | To add Media Scheduling to a new folder, do these steps: |
• | Click New. |
• | Choose New Folder. |
Horizon adds the new process to the model navigation bar.
• | Enter the name of the new folder in the Label field. |
• | If you want to, enter a keystroke or keystroke combination to activate the folder in the Menu Shortcut field. |
• | Click Apply. |
• | Highlight the new folder in the model navigation bar. |
• | Click New, then choose New Process. |
Horizon adds the new process to the model navigation bar.

Type one or more arguments for launching the software. For example, you can add arguments to the MsBook.exe Target so that it launches and automatically logs in to Media Scheduling. To do this, you use the following arguments: /S[ODBC_DSN] - the /S argument takes the name of the ODBC Data Source that you are connecting to. For example, /SHorizon. /P[Password] - the /P argument takes the password for logging into the database that goes with the specified user name. For example, /P123ABC. /U[UserName] - the /U argument takes the database user name. For example, /Usa. /D[DBName] - the /D argument takes the name of the database. For example, So, to automatically log on when launching the Media Scheduling program, you would add the following arguments: /SHorizon /P123ABC /Usa /Dhorizon Note: You can also add these arguments to a Windows shortcut for the program to achieve the same effect. |
6 | Click Apply. |
Horizon applies the changes shown in the model navigation bar to the actual navigation bar:
7 | Click OK. |
Horizon saves your settings and closes the Customize Launcher window.
