In addition to a barcode, Horizon can also assign items an inventory number, a unique, automatically-generated number which can be used to keep track of a particular item, even if the barcode is modified.
The Inventory Prefixes configuration allows you to configure the prefixes Horizon can use to generate the inventory numbers, whether or not the number should include a separator, and which number Horizon should start with to construct the numbers.
Horizon can generate inventory numbers as part of item creation or modification. For more information about this process, see the "Creating a Single Item Record" topic of the
To set up inventory number prefixes
1 | Open the newinvkey (Inventory Prefixes) view in the Table Editor. |
2 | Choose the configuration that you want to change, or create a new configuration. |
Horizon displays the Edit Inventory Prefixes window.
