Welcome to Horizon Home Service. Home Service lets you extend library services to borrowers who are hospitalized, ill, or otherwise unable to visit the library. (For example, if a student is home recovering from an accident, you can mail or deliver items to his or her home once a week. If a hospital has numerous patients who want to read, you can deliver items to the hospital once a month.) You can find out what types of items borrowers enjoy so you can distribute items accordingly. You can even let borrowers rate the items they read to help you choose items.
The Home Service Guide is for all users of Home Service, including system administrators. It explains how to set up and use Home Service and covers all the steps in the Home Service circulation cycle—from setting up borrower and route records to choosing, gathering, and circulating items. It also explains route management and reports printing. Most setup and administration-related topics that are specific to Home Service are covered in this guide. Security is explained in the System Administration Guide. Additional information about Circulation is explained in the Circulation Setup Guide.
