Importing borrower photos

Some additional considerations must be addressed to import borrower photos using Borrower Import.

The table containing the borrower photo and any accompanying information is named bimage. The bimage table contains the following columns:

borrower# – The borrower's barcode.
bimage – The borrower photo image object. Borrower Import uses the file path included in the data file to build the borrower photo and add it to the Horizon database. In the data file, either a full file path or a relative file path may be used.
creation_date – The date on which this row in the Horizon database was created.
timestamp – The date on which this import occurred.

To import a borrower photo with the borrower record, specify the bimage table in the import header file and the bimage file path in the data file. For example:

header1.txt (in S41 format):

X- borrower:second_id; name;
borrower_image:bimage; creation_date;

data1.txt (in S41 format):

action_code, second_id, name, bimage
A, ID1, Firstname Lastname1, C:\Users\Administrator\My Pictures\1.jpg
A, ID2, Firstname Lastname2, C:\Users\Administrator\My Pictures\2.jpg
A, ID3, Firstname Lastname3, C:\Users\Administrator\My Pictures\3.jpg

For more examples of header and data files, see Examples of Header and Data Files.

Borrower Import supports any file 8 KB or smaller as a value for bimage, but only image file types will display properly in the Horizon client.

If the imported image is smaller than 100 by 100 pixels, Horizon will insert black space around the selection to make the resulting image fit in a 100 by 100 pixel space.
