If you want to, you can create and activate alerts that inform you when a new borrower record matches an existing record in key fields.
To set up the Duplicate Borrower Alert
1 | Open the borr_duplication_alert view in the Table Editor. |
Horizon opens the List Borrower Duplication Alert window.
2 | Do one of the following: |
• | Choose New to create a new borrower duplication alert. |
• | Choose the borrower duplication alert you want to modify, then choose Edit. |
Horizon displays the Edit Borrower Duplication Alert window:
3 | Type a name for the alert in the Code field. This code will be used to select the alert in the Location Parameters mq_view. |
4 | Enter a description to help identify the alert. |
5 | Select the options you want for the alert. |

Description |

Automatically Check |
Specifies to check for duplicate users when a new borrower is created (when a user chooses Save for a new borrower record). If this option is not selected, users can choose the Check for Duplicates button to verify that there are no duplicates. |
Use Alternate Search |
Limits duplicate borrower searches to the borrower search limit specified in the alternate search. When this is not checked the search is expanded to borrower records from other locations for all duplicate borrower searches. For more information, see Limiting Borrower Searches for Specific Locations. |
Name |
Includes the Name field in the duplicate check. |
Birth Date |
Includes the Birth Date field in the duplicate check. |
Phone |
Includes the Phone field from the borrower phone record in the duplicate check. |
Address |
Includes the Address fields (Address 1, Address 2, Address 3, Address 4, Postal Code, and City, St) from the borrower address record in the duplicate check. |
Email Address |
Includes the Email Address field from the borrower address record in the duplicate check. |
Minimum Fields to Match |
Specifies how many of the selected fields need to match in order for a record to be considered a duplicate. |
6 | Save your changes. |
7 | In the Table Editor, open the location mq_view. |
8 | Open the location in which you want to include the duplicate borrower alert. |
9 | In the Borrower Duplication Alert field, enter the code for the alert you want to use. |
10 | Save your changes. |
