Horizon requires you to use a rating scale of 1 through 10. However, you need to define how you are going to interpret the scale.
To define the rating scale
1 | Decide which end of the rating scale means “did not like the item” and which end means “liked the item.” |
If your view of the scale is “the more you like it, the higher the rating,” you would define the scale like this:
On the other hand, if your view of the scale is “the best items are number 1,” you would define the scale like this:
In either case, make sure you do not include “0” (zero) in your scale. You will enter “0” at the rating prompt if a borrower did not provide a rating.
2 | Tell staff how the scale should be interpreted. |
3 | Tell borrowers how to use the rating scale. You can do this when you distribute items to them. |
