Using Media Scheduling

This chapter explains how to use Media Scheduling to perform basic scheduling tasks such as logging in to Media Scheduling, creating a media reservation, confirming a reservation using e-mail, and printing delivery, hold, and return slips.

Media Scheduling lets you reserve media-related items by setting up reservation schedules for individual borrowers and media items in your library. To reserve a media-related item, you must first search for the name of the borrower who wants to reserve the item. Then you must locate the record for the item the borrower wants to reserve.

After you have selected both the borrower name and the item to be reserved, you can then enter the dates and times when the borrower wants to reserve the item, as well as specific delivery and return locations.

When you set up a reservation, Horizon lets you know if it conflicts with an existing reservation. If there are conflicts between reservations, you can edit one or both of the reservations, or if necessary, delete one of the reservations.
