Using OCLC Control Numbers for Deduping
You can set up Information Portal to use OCLC control numbers as a match point for the deduping process.
Before You Begin

Check to see if you have an OCLC indexing MARC map set up in Horizon. If you do not, create one. (For instructions, see “MARC Maps” in the “General Setup” chapter of the Horizon System Administration Guide.) |

Check to see if you have an OCLC control number MARC map set up in Information Portal. If you do not, create one. (For instructions, see Customizing a Z39.50 MARC Map.) |
To use OCLC control numbers for deduping

Open your Information Portal Administration tool web site. |

Click the Customize tab. |

Click the Libraries option. |
The Administration tool displays the Library pages.

Choose the library for which you want to use OCLC control numbers for deduping. |
The Administration tool opens the Edit Z39.50 Library page.

In the OCLC Marc Map field, choose the MARC map for OCLC control numbers that was created in Information Portal. |

Scroll down to the Deduping section: |

In the OCLC Marc Map field, choose the MARC map that was created in Horizon. |

|
When you finish making changes in Information Portal, restart the Application Server process (JBoss). |
