Media Scheduling is a separate, add-on software component of the Horizon system that lets you circulate media-related items such as videotapes, sound recordings, or VCRs. Media Scheduling lets you set up a separate collection of all media-related items, and then schedule items for borrowers’ future use by searching for the borrower name and the item and creating a media reservation.
Before you can use Media Scheduling to circulate media-related items, you must first set up a separate media collection of all media items. This involves creating the collection, assigning MARC tags and subfields to your library’s media items, and establishing specific Media Scheduling parameters and privileges.
