You can set up these additional features for Information Portal:
• | Resource Requests. Users can send requests for items to library staff at the resource desk via e-mail. This lets the staff determine what needs to be done with the items in order to fill the users’ requests. The staff can place items on hold, send the items to a specific place, and so forth. |
• | Interlibrary Loans with RSS. If you use SirsiDynix’s Resource Sharing System (RSS), you can set up connections to RSS, and let your users search both locally and remotely to place ILL requests from Information Portal. |
• | Global settings. You can change the settings that have an impact on Information Portal throughout the interface. (For example, you can determine how much time Information Portal will wait for a response before timing out and returning to the library’s home page.) |
• | Borrower types for My Account. You can change the default My Account settings for one or all of your borrowers. (For example, you can increase the default number of bib records that most borrowers can save from 10 to 25.) |
• | SMTP relay host. If your library has an SMTP relay host, you can choose to have Information Portal relay all mail through this SMTP server. This helps prevent some firewall and routing problems. |
