If you want to add a tab that displays a web page or web site that is outside of Information Portal, then complete the steps in this task.
If you need to change the URL for the web page later, you can do so. (For instructions, see Changing the URL for a URL-Type Tab.)
To finish a URL-type tab
1 | If you have not already done so, access the Select Tab Type page. (For instructions, see Starting a New Tab.) |
2 | Choose the URL option. |
3 | Click Next. |
4 | In the Specify URL field, enter the URL for the web page that you want Information Portal to display when users click this tab. |
(For example, enter http://www.loc.gov for the Library of Congress’ web site.)
5 | Click Next. |
6 | Click OK. |
The Administration tool displays the Edit Tabset page again. (It does not display a page for adding or editing sub-tabs because a URL tab cannot have sub-tabs. When a user clicks on a URL tab, Information Portal sends the user to the web page for that URL.)
7 | If you added a new tabset, assign the tabset to the library profile for which you want to use it. (For instructions, see Changing the Tabset Assigned to a Profile.) |
8 | When you finish making changes in Information Portal, restart the Application Server process (JBoss). |
