Making Exceptions for Home Service BTYPEs

When you create a Home Service BTYPE record, you can control some of the circulation privileges that apply to Home Service borrowers with that BTYPE. However, certain other circulation privileges and limits are defined elsewhere (such as on ITYPE records). Some of these limits may not be reasonable for Home Service borrowers since their visit frequency usually determines when they return items. (You specify a visit frequency on the borrower record. For more information, see Borrower Records.)

If you want to lift certain restrictions from Home Service borrowers, you can specify the exceptions using the circ_privilege_code view. (For example, you may want to make exceptions for due dates, renewal options, and fine calculation.) (For more information, see the Circulation Setup Guide.)
