Turning On and Off Sort Relevancy

Information Portal lets you allow sort relevancy. When you turn on this feature for a sort and a user chooses the sort, Information Portal sorts search results by displaying those results with the most hits first. (Sorting relevancy logic assumes that users want to see the title or titles that have the most number of relevant search terms, or occurrences of search terms, in the MARC bib record first.) You can decide if you want to have Information Portal sort search results by the most relevant results by turning sorting relevancy on. You usually want to do this for only one of your sorts, usually a special sort that you have created in your Horizon database and imported into Information Portal. (For more information on importing a sort, see Changing the User Sort Options.)
