User tasks are tasks that a library staff member would complete using the software. These tasks may range from basic functions, such as requesting a closed stack item, to more advanced functions.
• | Requesting closed stack items. Library staff can make requests using staff searching and borrowers can make requests using Horizon Information Portal. |
• | Filling closed stack requests. After a user has requested a closed stack item, a staff member then “fills” the request. The process of filling a request consists of these tasks: using the request pull-slip to retrieve the item from the closed stack area, delivering the item to the designated pickup area, entering the item into Horizon, and giving the item to a borrower. |
• | Checking in closed stack items. When a borrower is finished using the closed stack item, a staff member checks in the item to change the item’s status and to make it available for other borrowers. |
• | Additional closed stack request tasks. If you want to, you can view specific information about a closed stack request. You can also manually change the status or availability date of a request and reprint request pull-slips. |
