The Community Resources module contains default tags and subfields that your library might use the most. However, you may want to review these default tags, then review the Community Information MARC 21 Concise Format tags. You can decide which tags and subfields that you want on your Community Resources records based on this MARC standard.
You can do this for all your Community Resources records; however, you may want to pay close attention to the tags that you want to use in the Clubs and Organizations records and the Events records. These records can contain lots of information and are usually accessed the most by your borrowers.
To update the MARC tags on a Community Resources record, you must do these tasks:
1. | Create a list of the tags that you want. |
2. | Create MARC maps for the tags that are not mapped. |
3. | Check that a map is listed in the full bib display that you want. |
4. | Add the tags to the appropriate workforms. (For instructions, see About Workforms.) |
This section explains these topics:
• | Creating a List of the Tags that You Want |
• | Creating a Display MARC Map for a Tag that Is not Mapped |
• | Checking that a MARC Map Displays in a Full Bib Display |
